PENSION GRADINA
This gem of a restaurant can be found at the very tip of the peninsula at the end of the village of Loviste, either a 10 minute drive or short boat ride away. Owned by our dear friend Robert, it has an extensive menu to suit every taste, from steak and truffle with fries to plates of children’s calamari and giant garlic prawns. You sit on the waters edge, the sea lapping at the edge of the dock with a little beach visible from your table for swimming, paddle boarding and kayaking. This is a place to spend the day and have a long lunch taking time to wander through the streets of this quaint and picturesque fishing village. £££

MORO BEACH CLUB
You will think you have stumbled upon a secret when you arrive (by boat only) to this perfectly formed, off-grid island. With a swing in the sea and off-beach snorkelling, its an ideal place to come for a chilled lunch with the family. The DJ starts his day in the box up on the rocks at about midday and slowly notches up the tempo of his beats as you work your way up the cocktail list with spectacular 360 degree views.
Many an unexpected afternoon will be spent here and would advise that even if you don’t make it for lunch, go and have a drink and a walk around the island.

ESTRAVAGANZA
Completely secluded in its own bay, this restaurant is in a league of its own. The fish caught that day is brought to you on a large wooden platter - John Dory, Amber Jack, Snapper, Tuna, Sea Bass - cooked on a large open fire with lashings of home-made olive oil and garlic. Other options such as octopus, squid, muscles, prawns and lobster are available… if you aren’t a sea food lover, this place isn’t for you. They will do a lovely salad if you don’t fancy the catch of the day however.
Snorkelling, swimming and rock climbing can occupy the children while you sit feet away keeping an eye with a cold glass of white wine… £££

MIMI’S BEACH BAR AT TARAS LODGE
This is a perfect lunch on the beach where children can play in the water below (on rented paddle boards or kayaks) whilst you sit in the cool breeze on the terrace with a cold drink. Situated in a very pretty bay just across the water from the Villa, Mimi’s is quick and easy to get to and will serve a delicious lunch with a slightly different menu to the classic Croatian food you will have in many other places. Burgers, salads and truffle pasta are just a few of the classics and with comfy loungers right on the beach you can have cocktails, pudding and coffee down there afterwards. £££

VRNIK ARTS CLUB
The Arts Club is on the tiny island of Vrnik off Korcula. Converted from an old school it has the dining room on the ground-floor, small gallery upstairs and two sea-view bedrooms. Vrnik is a stunning haven with turquoise waters, white pebble beaches and covered in bougainvillea. Grilled sea bream with braised cabbage and polenta roasted potatoes along with a swordfish ceviche starter is the kind of thing you will find on the menu. The village this restaurant is situated in is very pretty and well worth a wander through between your main course and pudding. ££££

KONOBA MATE, KORCULA
You will need to take a car inland on Korcula to find this family run restaurant in a little town called Pupnat. It focuses on seasonal island produce growing many of their own vegetables in the fields below the terrace. The interiors are charming with bright green grape vines hanging over the ceiling and dried yellow flowers on every table. The owner in the kitchen and her daughters either waitressing or frying the sage ricotta ravioli. This menu will be unlike any other you'll find on the coast restaurants in Croatia with ragu pastas and cured pork, stuffed figs with pancetta and carrot cake with oranges and almonds. ££

CIN CIN
This is a great little restaurant in a very pretty and accessible village called Raciste on Korcula Island. With a little boules court just below, you can moor up in the harbour and wander up to the bar for pizzas, calamari and other holiday classics. It won’t win any awards for its menu but everything is fresh and delicious. With a lovely beach and great swimming off the break-water, its a really lovely spot to cruise in, eat and cruise out again if you are doing multiple stops in the day. I wouldn’t say its a ‘stay and hang out all day’ number like some of the others. £

KONOBA TAMONTO
Cocktails with a view? Watch the sun setting between the islands from atop the Korcula city walls. With an extensive list of cocktails and mocktails, you should start your evening here. Happy hour usually starts at about 6pm so worth booking your water taxi to pick you up beneath the villa and whizz across to get there early. While the gin palaces come in to rest for the night, you can admire the view from one side looking west before walking through the cobbled streets to have dinner on the other side of the city to look east.

LECIC DIMITRI, KORCULA
This is a exquisite hotel in Korcula’s old town which has been converted from an 18th century Bishop’s house. It’s worth ordering from the extensive wine list and don’t forget to only order Croatia wine wherever you go! Dinner is best and you can dine out on Dimitri’s terrace either seated on the wall overlooking the sea below, or on the terrace by the restaurant watching people promenade past.
